Have a DC40/41 and waned to buy the exact cleaner again. Surfed the net for hours, telephoning Dyson direct trying to find out the next cleaner to replace the DC40/41. Very weary worn was advised the one I eventually purchased from Argos was the one, and it had a Big Ball. So excited was I when I brought my new cleaner home only to be met with disappointment when I realised it only had a small ball. I nicknamed it BABY DYSON as an insult, and was determined to return same. Left it for a week and kept looking at it sitting in its box. Temptation got the better of me I put it together and tried it out. There would be no going back now. However to my surprise it was amazing, whirling with agile ease around my rooms. It cleaned and refreshed my carpets as never before. BABY DYSON is a definite hit with me now. My DC40/41 is now called BIG DADDY and has lost his status as main cleaner.
Way too expensive for the most basic vac.
Has really good suction but is ridiculously heavy. Feel like have had a full workout doing the vacuuming and nigh on impossible on the stairs. I'm 40 and relatively fit but still struggle. Also it's really long winded getting the hose out, can't just quickly pull it out to do edges. Have to turn it off, lift the flap, pull the hard hose out then disengage the bendy hose. U then have a very long and rigid hose halfway along so it's hard to do below waist height, ie floors and the couch. Then all in reverse to put it away. Also no light on it to see dirt. Also manual change for hard floor and carpet and too for the roller off and on. All in all a good clean but def bit worth the money.
Good appliance
I’ve had this vacuum for just over a month. As an upright it works really well. It has powerful suction though it is a bit heavy.
I like the way the hose and attachments store away because it means there are no extra parts that have to be stowed away. Once the hose is pulled out it only really works easily if you are pointing it straight up or straight down, because the pipe section is almost the same as the height of the cleaner it can’t get into awkward nooks and crannies. If you have large open spaces this wouldn’t be an issue.
It’s very easy to empty the dust container, and obvious when you need to this. Great that you don’t have to buy dust bags.
Classic Dyson
Been using for a few weeks and the difference is amazing. Our old Dyson missed bits and was often tangled with long hair. This new one doesn’t struggle with sticky fluff and the anti wrap feature works very well. It’s fairly heavy, but the manoeuvrability of the ball and head gets over that and the capacity means it goes longer between emptying. It has an extremely long lead and the hose gets to top of the stairs. The head is lower than our last one and so misses the pipes below our radiators and gets further under the sofa. Very pleased and recommended if you want the power and extra capacity of a wired vacuum cleaner.

Really can't fault this amazing machine. Well... Yes, it's a little heavy for the size, but not at all unmanageable... And it's generously long cable means extra care not to run over it during use, but true of any corded vacuum. And also found the video tutorial to get things started slightly confusing as the model demo'd wasn't ours, though once we worked it out was a doddle. Looks very smart and, boy, does it eat. Such a thorough clean. Emptying is swift with the touch button release action. Audible but not at all noisy. Yet to use all the attachments but absolutely delighted with our purchase.
Good vacuum
I bought this a month ago and I’m very happy with my purchase . It works very well I ungraded from a DC25 so it was a great comparison . I like how quiet it is and how good the suction is . I do however dislike that I can’t drag it back like older models as this one isn’t designed like that. I also don’t think it will last 10 yrs due to difference in weight and materials and lifting up the stairs is still an issue with where to hold and pull from but that seems to be an Dyson issue and not this model thing as had same with my dc25. . Apart from those things very happy would buy again.

When looking for a new vacuum cleaner this popped up on the Argos website! Collected same day, popped it together (which was straight forward) plugged in and…… my carpets looked brand new again and I was like the cat that got the cream!! Also tried out the new hinged feature and did all my cobwebs with ease. Would 100% recommend this Dyson a reasonable price (when you think it’s guaranteed for 5 years!!) for an amazing product. One last bonus the lead is so long I managed to vacuum my whole downstairs with out unplugging! Need I say more……
Very Heavy!!
Incredibly heavy and difficult to move on standard carpets regardless of which head setting was used. Painful on the wrist when manoeuvring it. Using the built-in hose to use the attachments is virtually impossible as the hose has very little flexibility - the more length you try and extend it to just results the machine falling over. Having tried it out, therefore couldn't return it so had no option other than to sell it privately - at a huge loss!! Wouldn't recommend this to anybody, especially somebody old or infirm.

This is our second ever Dyson Upright cleaner. As expected works really well. A big step up on the older model we had. Improved performance and really quiet. Light and very manoeuvrable. Capacity and suction are excellent. Very pleased. The only trouble with upright was registering the model with Dyson it self. Getting in touch with Dyson was hopeless. Still not sorted as this upright comes with five year warranty. They promised to get back to me but still have not bothered. Disappointing Dyson.
Easy to manoeuvre and light
Excellent, plug in vacuum with really good dust pickup performance you would expect from Dyson. You can easily change the brush head setting to suit the type of flooring. The cable is easy to uncoil from the handle as the top retainer simply flips around and releases whole cable immediately. Very easy and mess free to empty the collection bin and equally as easy to re-instate to carry on cleaning. The ball design makes it very east to maneuver around objects around the home.
Dyson Ball Animal vecuum
I bought this as a replacement for a DC25 ball Dyson hoover and have been pleased with its performance. Initially it seemed to have less suction, because the DC25 stuck to the carpet and was difficult to push our lounge carpet. This is easier, and actually produces as good a clean if not better. It cleans in a slightly different way, as the hoover brush runs across the rotating bar. I’m really pleased with it and would definitely recommend this as a replacement or upgrade.
Excellent Dyson Vaccum
I bought this to replace a Shark vacuum which was frankly useless ( I really can't recommend Shark at all i really dont understand how reviews saying they are better than dyson are real) which I only had a year. I had a dyson for ten years before which survived 3 dogs and their hair. So I've gone for a dyson again as the suction even on the lowest setting is better than the Shark! All I would say this model is heavy if some one is unable to use a heavy vacuum.

I bought this to replace a shark that had stopped working. I didn't really get on with the shark, ( it was too heavy) but I persevered with it, but once it started to stop working I looked at a dyson ( I'd had dyson previously) This dyson is so much better and I've noticed the difference with my carpets. It's lighter, and easier to use, very easy to empty. I got it at a good price and had it delivered. The whole process was easy and I'd do it all again.
Always trusted Dyson
We've had Dyson hoovers in the family for over 20 years now, and now having my own place it was time to buy my own. I didn't take any other brand into consideration and I'm not too keen on the battery powered ones so corded it was. As long as these hoovers are looked after they'll do the best job possible. Possibly a little over powered for my situation but I know of the ease of using Dyson products and the reliability. Don't forget the 5 year warranty!
Powerful
I have been using this Dyson for a while. I deliberately bought a corded one simply because they are more powerful. Cord has enough length. I only plug it in one place and clean the whole house. The only negative is that the telescopic steel pipe is far too long. You have to stand at a distance when you are using the attachments. I wish the steel pipe was removable. You can’t store the attachments on the machine either. Overall I am very happy with it.

not a patch on the old version i have 2 ragdoll cats and have always had a dyson but this one will NOT pick up the cat fur on my woollen carpet just skims over the top and rolls the fur into lines which i then have to pick up by hand i have tried every angle to pick the fur up but it does not happen yes on the highest suction it will lift up the carpet as well as giving you an arm workout but not the cat fur so disappointed wish i could return

I bought this dyson( as the brand has never let me down) a few months ago. I was using a well known stick cleaner however I just had to go back to Dyson as my carpets just didn’t feel clean. I was justified in thinking this as the first use of the Dyson the fluff, dust that came of my carpet’s was horrible. The clear dust collector was half full. Negative comment. And reason for 4 star rating. It is heavy, especially after us a stick vacuum.
Good hoover
Have been using for a couple of months. Have used and abused. Have used on carpet and laminate as expected of a Dyson it cleans well. Have used after having some building wok done picked up the dust and cleaned up. Large bin size means less emptying if doing a deep clean. The filters were ok just gave them a good clean and wash after all working fine. One thing the wand is very stiff so using on stairs causing an issue.

I previously bought a stick cordless vacuum by vax what a waste of money that was! So I bought the Dyson and although it is corded it is so powerful and gives a thorough clean making the carpet look so much better I cannot believe how much dust came up! Wish dyson could do something about the cord it is lovely and long but takes ages to wrap when done. Still happy with purchase and good price compared to others
Great vac.
Every day our dogs shed enough hair to choke a council road sweeper. This vac is fast and efficient. The hopper fills quickly and doesn't empty easily if you ignore the full marker, but regular trips to the bin keeps the vac working. It's a lot quieter than other vac's we've had too. It might be me looking for an excuse not to bother, but it doesn't do stair carpet easily.
