Steam generator irons can be bulky and heavy, so this iron would be ideal if you're short on space or want something a little more manageable. It’s important to note that this generator iron, water tank and base are one entire unit and there is no locking mechanism on the iron, so be mindful when moving the unit about.
Before first use and then during regular intervals, the calc clean function should be performed. Fill the water base and use the calc tray provided, select and hold down the calc button on the front of the iron for a couple of seconds and the iron will start beeping and flashing orange. Step away as the iron cleans itself. It will automatically switch off and be careful when emptying the tray as the water is boiling hot.
When you are ready to use the iron, the tank holds an impressive 1.4l of water which is more than enough to get through the weekly ironing pile. However while the unit itself is quite lightweight, I found when full with water it was too heavy for my ironing board and I needed to place it on the kitchen counter. Thankfully the cable and cord are long enough that this didn’t pose a problem. The iron itself heats up in a couple of minutes and will beep once at the required temperature. There are several settings to choose from, I find the eco setting is more than adequate for the task at hand, including denim.
I have used steam generators in the past and have to admit that this model sits more in the basic/starter range. However it still packs a punch and is definitely easier to store when not in use.

Having used a steam generator iron for many years I was dubious after unpacking as it looks basic and smaller than my last iron. Yet the features are so much better. Yes it’s smaller but that’s useful more space on the ironing board and easier to store
Adjustable heat for different fabrics is a bonus and very large capacity water tank the iron makes a beeps to let you know the correct temp has been reached and flashes when getting. Ready to release more steam which can be released by gently releasing tricker button on underside of handle
The cable is light and doesn’t get caught up on whatever your ironing like others I’ve used and there’s a simple quite to descaling and a handy plastic tray to use when the time is ready to self clean it.
The iron glides freely over buttons and it’s more than cable on sensitive fabrics and think denim.
The only draw back is the water tank doesn’t detach but has a handy little flap down door to re fill which can be done under a tap. Also the dial can be moved easily when ironing by your hand but you do hear it make a noise when the setting is changed so no biggy
Game changer, so much time saved!
This is a game changer, I couldn’t justify spending the money before but a few people kept telling me how good they are so treated myself! If you are anything like me, hate ironing & always have a massive pile of ironing, treat yourself! It saves so much time, only one side of a lot of items need ironing, t-shirts & thinner items! It has a good water capacity tank which lasts for about an hour & releases a good amount of continuous steam, the only thing is you need to keep your finger on the steam button to give constant steam which I didn’t realise so might not be ideal for everyone. The instructions are photos with no text so you have to decipher what it’s trying to tell you, but I googled & it made sense (maybe just me not getting it 🤦🏼♀️) . It does advise you to empty the tank after each use so if you iron little & often it might not be ideal if you don’t want to keep emptying it! I haven’t used the cleaning function but it looks really straightforward. All in all I’m really pleased with it & would definitely recommend 😊
Cracking little bit of kit, cuts the ironing time
I was sceptical using this stream generator, how wrong I was!! Much better than a conventional iron, large tank capacity so no regular filling like with an iron, fantastic crease free results on clothes, it’s nice and light in the hand & has a handy cord and cable storage making it quite easy to store. Yes it looks more cumbersome when using it due to the tank size, but the iron itself is actually a little smaller than a normal iron. Has an auto shut off if like me you regularly iron at the last minute and run out of the house, so great safety feature. Slides around clothing with ease as the plate is ceramic, so long lasting too. The new go to item in our household!!!!
Big and clumsy
Not very impressed with this steam generator unfortunately. The main unit is too big and unstable to sit on my iron board and I don’t have enough room or anything high enough to sit it on. The electric cord is stiff and the iron is heavy, making Ironing awkward and difficult to do. I also found that trying to keep the steam button pressed all the time was hard work and in actual fact, more steam came out when lifting the iron off the garment than when actually pressing down on them. On a plus note, this steam generator does a great job of getting creases out quickly and without water spots on my clothes.
Makes ironing easy
Having never used an iron like this I was really happy with how quick and easy it is to get through a pile of clothes. Trigger activated steam makes the creases fall out instantly, there's the usual temperature controls and a beep to let you know when it's ready, I did my ironing in around half the time it usually takes. It was also so good for shirts on the hanger and I finally got the creases out of the curtains just using the steam, being able to use it vertically was very useful. There is wraparound cord storage at the bottom to keep it tidy when not in use, all in all a great piece of kit.
Great Value Steam Iron
This is a very lightweight iron easy to use.It has good steam output with a nice size sole plate. The temperature control dial is easy to use.
The cable length is a good length allowing the water tank to sit on the ironing board allowing the iron be used without moving it.
I would have liked to have had a locking mechanism to the base so the iron could be locked into place for storage This is a personal preference and does not affect the use.
I'm really pleased with the quality and ease of ironing with the steam generated iron I'd highly recommend.
Small and powerful! A really easy iron to use.
Small and mighty. This iron is incredibly light weight but packs a real punch. Plenty of power and I loved the variety of settings to really get the most out of it. The steam function is excellent! Ironing shirts is never fun but the steam function makes light quick work of it. I also love the eco mode for getting through the day to day ironing. Easy to fill water area and plenty of space so you are not constantly having to refill the water. A really easy to use and versified product that I would definitely recommend.
Fantastic for jeans and shirts
This was the first time I’d used a steam generator iron and I found it took some getting used to. I love the massive tank, which means I’m not constantly filling it up. Not so keen on not having a water spray built in to it. The steam boost makes jeans and shirts a doddle but I found it very difficult to iron light items, as it’s not as good on low temperatures and it either stuck to the clothes or left creases. Overall it is a good iron and an improvement from my standard one.
Very average steam iron
This is a normal steam iron with a larger capacity water container. Steam generated for boost is very slow, usually after the iron has been put back on the holder. It's an OK steam iron (not a bad one), but only as good as an iron at a quarter of the price. Also, the information says it has a removable water container but it doesn't, which makes it difficult to fill. Disappointing and an expensive stop-gap while my old iron is repaired. I don't like giving bad reviews!
Fantastic Iron
This is the first time I have used a steam generator iron and I found it took a little bit of time to get used to. The massive tank is fantastic, it means I’m not constantly filling it up, which saves time. The steam boost is great makes ironing school uniform so much easier, when the water tank is running low it alerts you, so you can fill it up, long cord so ironing isnt restricted. Overall it is a fantastic iron and and definitely a big improvement on my usual one.
Brilliant upgrade to standard iron
Love how light this iron is compared to my old iron when filled with water. Wish id upgraded ages ago! Have to iron quite a range of clothing from cotton shirts and trousers to silk outfits. This iron glides through effortlessly!! I'm always quite worried ironing my silk sarees and blouses and it normally takes me ages but this has cut my ironing time in half! Am considering buying one as a gift for my mum who struggles with heavy irons.
Cheap but disappointing
Sole plate stuck to clothes regardless how cool it was and steam was a bit wheezy. It’s really just a regular steam iron with a large remote water tank. If you’ve had a proper steam generator this will be a disappointment. If you’re upgrading from a regular iron it’s probably a slight improvement. Replaced a 10 year old dead Bosch steam generator which was hugely better. Sadly they don't make them anymore. Returned this one.
Fantastic
Absolutely fantastic steam iron it holds 1.4 litres of water in the base. Very easy to fill with a flip out down spout so you can pour the water and not make a mess. Multiple settings, heats up really fast button on the inside of the handle if yiu push this the water is taken from the base direct to the iron and steams super quick. The coating on the iron allows for a smooth glide on your garments quick and easy.
Great replacement
This replaced my previous tefal model. It's a good iron, I liked the on off switch at the front with the light to say when it's ready. The tank will last for ages and it's quite quiet compared to the last one. The sole plate is ceramic and can catch on high heat so try it on 2 first as the steam does the work. The leads are nice and long so no problem there. Recommended for people needing a lighter iron.
Takes the pain out of ironing
Love this, it has cut my ironing time down dramatically. My son has loads of those tops with picture transfers on them which are a pain to iron, having to iron them inside out etc. This has made it possible to iron the back of the top and it irons both sides at once. The only issue I've had with this is that you can't take the tank off to empty it but that I can live with
Makes the iron task a little easier
The steam generator water tank is huge, I had to use it on kitchen worktop as too big for my ironing board. The iron is very light weight and it glided through the creases effectively. The water tank also very easy to fill from tap as large opening allows this. To get the iron to desired heat took 2 minutes, choice of pre set programs ie cotton, silk etc.
Super smooth steam iron
I have never owned a more efficient iron in my life! This iron is wonderful, it glides smoothly and is much lighter because the water is separate from the iron itself. The way it removes creases is by far the best I’ve ever seen. I thought the leads might be tricky but I keep the unit on a work surface next to the ironing board and it’s not a problem.
Lightweight & quick iron
I love this product as it is lightweight and works quickly to iron lots of clothing. On first glide, the iron will remove crease easily which makes ironing quicker. When the water is nearly finished, it will make a low noise to remind us. Easy to fill up but I don't fill up to the top as it can be heavy on the ironing board to take its weight.
Efficient and easy to use
Don't let this monster of an iron fool you. It looks huge but super efficent, light ans easy to use.
After filling the tank (1.4 ltr) it heats up in just took under 2 minutes to heat up. Kep me going over an 1hr of inroning before i needed to refill.
It has a handy cleaning tray foe the iron.
