It’s not often that I’m blown away on a product delivering on all its promises so perfectly. But this soundbar quite literally is the best out there. I will explain as to why in this review..
The Arc Ultra boasts a 9.1.4-channel configuration, up from the 5.0.2 arrangement of the original Arc. There are 15 Class D amplifiers powering 14 drivers that are all Sonos-engineered. There are seven tweeters, six midrange woofers, and a 'Sound Motion' woofer. The later is mind blowing to say the least, I’ve never heard something within a soundbar that can amplify bass so efficiently. The boffins at Sonos have created magic.
Pair this with the Sub 4 and you’re on for an absolute winner. The bass delivery from the Sub 4 is astronomical. It hits deep and low, reminding you that this truly is a premium product. Sending you down memory lane to that cinema thud that we’re used to when at the movies.
Both music and film are delivered perfectly and support for Dolby Atmos is as standard. HDMI cable is included. There is no remote control but Sonos have created a fully versatile app that can easily configure both soundbar and sub independently, linking them together flawlessly and that of the TV too. Within the app there is the ability to link to existing apps like Apple Music and Spotify. This functionality is great and allows you to open the subscription app within Sonos. There is no support for HDMI pass through, meaning that this soundbar will connect directly to the TV only. Most soundbars act as a hub for other devices. But this is a minor inconvenience and one that does not cause me concern as instead the HDMI ports on the TV are utilised. There is also no support for Google Home. As Sonos is affiliated only to themselves, Google Home will add the device but you can’t create a speaker group with other Google speakers.
The soundbar itself is fairly wide, one would depict this is to accommodate the vast array of speakers whilst also ensuring the width of the soundstage is perfected. If you have a TV smaller than 65” this could be an issue. But I think it’s safe to assume, those in the market for the cream of the crop, would have nothing short of a 65” TV as a minimum. The Sub 4 is of moderate size in relevance to other soundbar subs. But the deep tones and low notes would have you believe it were twice its size.
I have cranked this up to 80/100 and it is mind blowing; crips highs, pulsing lows, fidelity is clean with zero distortion. But it’s the bass from the Sub 4 that is heavenly. They’ve created an addict and now I want to get their entire setup. I’m a fully fledged Sonos fan.
Unbelieveable speakers with stunning sound!
This soundbar gives you a real home cinema experience. Our TV watching experience has definitely changed tremendously since we have the new soundbar. The sound is very pleasant and crystal clear. Even our children noticed a clear difference when watching their children programmes. They asked us "how come we can hear so well"
Our TV is wall mounted and we therefore are currently still waiting for our handyman to come and install the new soundbar onto the wall which is another feature which we were unable to do with the speakers we were using until now.
We have always got background music on in our house and we never realised what we were missing until we had received the soundbar. There is no difference whether we play calm background music, Jazz or Pop, the performance is just a levels above the speakers we have had at home until now.
The Soundbar can be controlled by touch from the actual bar, by voice, TV remote and from the Sonos app. The bar connects to other devices such as the Sonos Sub by connecting them to your Home Wife Network. The bar can be connected to Spotify, Bluetooth and Apple Airplay.
One can also run a test on the bar to ensure that the sounds are adapted according to the room the bar is in.
We feel very spoiled with the new speaker and would highly recommend this product when looking for your next new speaker.

Unbelievable performance and sound quality
I honestly don’t know where to start. The Arc Ultra has completely changed the family set up and cinematic experience in our home. Firstly the set up was so quick and easy. The app is user friendly, slick and simple. There are additional ways to control the settings even using Amazon Alexa.
Movie nights have gone to a whole new level, too. The Dolby Atmos sound from the Arc Ultra gives such depth – you can hear every detail. Dialogue is sharp and clear, so there’s no more rewinding scenes to catch what people are saying, and the sound moves around you in a way that really pulls you into the film. We honestly don’t feel the need to go to the cinema anymore!
The design is just amazing. I honestly couldn’t recommend the speaker system anymore. I’m definitely converted to Sonos!!!

So, upgraded from a Sony htx1 sound base and so have had this for about 2 weeks now and have to say I have not been blown away. Still searching for the movie or program that will make me go “Wow!”.Watching programs is now great with regards to hearing what is being said especially with more modern stuff. However, I seem to be constantly adjusting the lip sync options. I’ve tried the tv, the receiver box and the app and everytime I change from one thing to another, tv to an app for example, the process starts again as the sync is bad. I was going to go for the beam with bass box but this had better reviews so for the little extra I thought why not. Wish I’d got the beam now as surely it wouldn’t have sounded that much worse? So at this moment, not very impressed.

The setup is very easy as it comes with instructions and the use of an app, once setup, you can use true play to measure your room to give you the best performance possible, theArc ultra comes with a touch screen bar at the back, where you can literally play, pause, skip and use the voice assistant , it also has a little area on it where u can slide ur finger across to adjust the sound. The product has a built in nfc reader, bluetooth 5.3, and apple airplay meaning you can add other devices. It also comes with a speech enhancement settings which i found insanely useful for watching films. The whole system is phenomenal and makes it sound like you have the cinema at home.
Cinema quality experience!
Absolutely love the speaker! Easy set up, the app is straight forward, there are plenty of options to personalize the sounds up to your taste. In terms of music it is amazing, cinema and movie even better. The only thing that did our head was the connectivity, we tried to connect two various spotify accounts - one on android and the other on iphone but we could not find a solution yet. It is either one or the other. But that is pretty much the only downside. The trueplay function in combination with the speech enhancement just creates an unbelievable experience. You can also use the TV remote to control the volume once the soundbar is connected to the TV.
Excellent dialogue quality
The first thing that stands out is the size of the bar but when you hear the clear and powerful deep bass you can look past that! To set up the system I downloaded the app which made it take a lot longer than it should have! With the help of online search I managed to finally get around the error code 1000 on the update. The app has been very glitchy so have patience. Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay and voice control makes it very easy and convenient to use in a busy house. There is no basic HDMI input so a converter is needed if using it with a tv. When using it with a tv the Sound Motion Woofer gives you a clear and defined spatial experience.
Exceptional soundbar!
This is a fantastic soundbar, and has blown any other set up we’ve had out of the water. The sound quality is exceptional, and the settings can be easily changed in the app. It is easy to set up, as you plug it in and connect it to your app. It then does an automatic acoustic check, to ensure you have the best settings for the home. We have the subwoofer as well, and the two complement each other very well. You can use AirPlay, Bluetooth and voice control with the soundbar. The sound truly makes you feel like you are at the cinema when watching a film, and even dialogue is crisp and clear.
Great addition to enhance sound in my bedroom
The soundbar speaker came well packaged and in a black dust/protective bag. My husband easily mounted it to the wall with no problems using a wall mounting kit and it was set up within a matter of minutes. I used the sonos app on my phone to delve into enhanced settings such as ‘true play’ which listens to the acoustics in your chosen room and basically does all the hard work for you in regards to setting it up! The soundbar adds more clarity to sound and really does enhance the listening experience. I found it particularly noticeable when listening to music and watching shows.

Just brilliant. Easy to use with the app. Looks great, larger than anticipated so make sure you check dimensions before purchasing. Very crisp sound, app has tune adjust for optimal listening. You can see, feel and hear the quality with this and when combined with the sub gives a superior experience.
Easy sale but...
Easy sale and item in stock at our local Daventry Store - however although the website said it was in stock I didn't get a notification that it was ready to collect. I visited the store just before closing and was told it was ready and handed it over! I'm very please with my purchase otherwise.
